Photo Analysis #4
The first thing that struck me about this picture were the colors of the balloons. Although all of the balloons are somewhat pale in their particular color, the colors are warm and inviting as opposed to bright or harsh. After noticing the balloons I noticed the woman hanging on to them, and that she is rising in the air above Paris (which I determined only because of the Eiffel Tower in the background).
I knew from the colors and from the girly letttering of Dior and Cherie that the product being sold was aimed at women, however I could not tell what exactly the brand Dior was trying to sell, that is unti I noticed the huge bottle of perfume in the woman’s arms. The color of the perfume is too close to the color pink of her dress, so it took me a little longer to notice.
The warm pinks, purples, blues and whites make this advertisement very effective. The woman is floating into the air which leaves an impression on the potential buyer that the perfume will make you smell feel light and girly. The color and the lighting of this photo is what makes the advertisment effective.
